People often use medicines during any kind of infection. Whether it is a bacterial or non-bacterial infection, medicines are used during this time. But do you know that after taking medicines, you often make some mistakes which you should not do?
The course of medicine must be completed
Many times it happens that doctors give a course of medicine to a patient which people often do not complete. When there is an illness, they take medicine and then when they get a little better, they stop taking it completely. There is a gap in taking the medicine. By doing this your health can deteriorate. It often happens that if you do not complete the course, the medicine often does not work properly on the bacteria. The bacteria becomes resistant to it.
Never do this mistake after taking medicine
Grapes or sour fruits should not be eaten after taking medicine because it causes a lot of difficulty in digesting the medicine.
Dairy Products
Dairy products should not be used after taking the medicine because milk, curd, cheese and dairy products should not be consumed in large quantities. This does not cause any side effects on the body.
Foods Containing Tyramine
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), which treat depression and symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, and other medications can interfere with the breakdown of tyramine, an amino acid found in many foods. High levels of tyramine in the blood circulation can also cause an increase in blood pressure. Commonly tyramine-rich foods include chocolate, processed meats, aged or matured cheese, and soy products.
Avoid consuming tyramine-rich green leafy vegetables, or drinking alcohol while taking the medication.
You are always told to eat green vegetables, but if you are taking blood-thinning medications, you may need to reduce their intake. The high amount of vitamin K found in green, leafy vegetables can reduce the drug’s ability to prevent blood clots. This happens when you suddenly increase or decrease the number of green vegetables in your diet. So you don’t have to give them up completely. Eating them in regular amounts will keep your vitamin K levels balanced.
